HDS communications reached out to our 2021 graduating students to hear from them in their own words about their experiences at HDS, the people who've helped and inspired them along their grad school journeys, and their plans for the future.
Words of Inspiration
The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever does not thank people has not thanked God.” Thank you to all my professors, classmates, friends, and everyone at HDS who made my experience memorable, enjoyable, and fulfilling. May our hearts always stay connected, no matter where we are.
How I've Changed
The biggest change that I have perceived in myself is the broadening of my mind in my perception of various aspects of life. Through the diversity of perspectives that my classmates have taught me, I have been able to learn to see the world through all these lenses.
All my memorable moments involve walking through Harvard's campus, soaking in the beautiful autumn colors, and running into my friends and classmates. The HDS Thanksgiving Dinner was also one of these moments when we gathered together, enjoyed conversations, and formed friendships.
Message of Thanks
I would like to thank all my instructors and classmates. Each and every one of them contributed to inspiring me during my journey. Every person you meet is a teacher one way or another, and everyone I met at HDS taught me something valuable.
What I Want to Be Remembered By
I hope to be remembered by my classmates and teachers as someone who was always willing to learn something new, and someone who they could also learn from. I hope to be remembered through the many beautiful friendships formed at HDS.
I plan to take the next year off to finally have my wedding and then contemplate what I want to do in the long run. After a difficult year, I think a break is much needed and I hope to use the time to figure out the best path to pursue my passions.
