HDS communications reached out to our 2021 graduating students to hear from them in their own words about their experiences at HDS, the people who've helped and inspired them along their grad school journeys, and their plans for the future.

Words of Inspiration

"Unconditional love. That’s the bottom line. Everything is here because of love. That’s why we were created—to love. Love keeps things going, not just for now, but forever. Love gives life and makes sure what’s around today will be around tomorrow. It’s all about compassion."—Robert Lax

Message of Thanks

I would like to thank especially Prof. Luis M. Girón Negrón, who's mentorship and deep friendship has been a life-giving well for me at HDS. His generosity and love are a gift to everyone who meets him.

What I Hope to Be Remembered By

I hope to be remembered as a follower of Christ who loved everyone deeply, like Charles de Foucauld, a universal brother to all.

Future Plans

I am in the process to be a candidate for ordination in the ELCA and become a hospital chaplain. I hope to further in my Christian Ministry the lessons I've learned during my time at HDS, especially to foster and cherish life-giving relationships across differences.
