HDS communications reached out to our 2021 graduating students to hear from them in their own words about their experiences at HDS, the people who've helped and inspired them along their grad school journeys, and their plans for the future.

How I've Changed

I've grown as a scholar and more confident in my scholarly and speaking voice, but, more importantly, I feel that I've grown as a person. My values, commitments, and spiritual life have all deepened and been refined in my time at HDS, and I'm very grateful for that.

Favorite Class or Professor

My favorite class was "Intro to Hebrew Bible" with Professor Teeter. That was such an important class for me, particularly in how it helped me better understand more life-giving and nuanced ways to approach the texts of my tradition.

Future Plans

Next year, I'll be completing a legal fellowship to do tenant advocacy and eviction defense, and, long term, I hope to do a combination of movement (which, for me, likely includes ministry) and academic work.
