HDS opened its 199th academic year on Thursday, August 28, 2014, with a keynote address, "The Matter of Religion and Theology." [Dean David N. Hempton](https://hds.harvard.edu/people/david-n-hempton) offered welcoming remarks and Professor Laura Nasrallah, MDiv candidate Barbara Schreur, and ThD candidate Tyler Schwaller, MDiv ’10, delivered the keynote address.
