Katherine Collins, MTS '11, is a professional investor who's managed billions of dollars of assets. Her new book, [*The Nature of Investing*](http://www.amazon.com/The-Nature-Investing-Investment-Strategies/dp/1937134946), lays out the nature-inspired principles she puts into practice today as head of her own research firm.

She spoke with HDS Critical Thinking about this work and the way that *"*biomimicry" can transform a financial sector that accounts for more than a trillion dollars of economic activity in the United States.
