Thiemann was long a vital presence at Harvard Divinity School, from 1986, when he was appointed Dean and John Lord O'Brian Professor of Divinity, and in the years since, as Professor of Theology, Professor of Religion and Society, and, most recently, as Bussey Professor of Theology. His accomplishments were many, and his contributions to HDS unceasing.
