#  Harvard Divinity Bulletin Named a Magazine of the Year

Harvard Divinity School's publication, *[Harvard Divinity Bulletin](http://bulletin.hds.harvard.edu)*, was recognized on October 6, 2012 as one of the Religion Newswriters Association's (RNA) magazines of the year. The annual RNA awards ceremony was held this year in Bethesda, Maryland.

The *Bulletin*, which is published twice per year and includes articles, reviews, and opinion pieces on religion and contemporary life, religion and the arts, religious history, and the study of religion, received third prize in the "Magazine of the Year: Overall Excellence in Religion Coverage" category, behind [*Christianity Today*](http://www.christianitytoday.com/) (second prize) and [*Moment Magazine*](http://www.momentmag.com/) (first prize).

From the RNA website: "Religion Newswriters Association's magazine awards categories are designed to recognize journalism excellence by measuring a journalist's or magazine's grasp on a diversity of religion issues."

The judges of the competition said: "Deeply penetrating and casting a wide net across the vast landscape of religious thought, the *Bulletin* offers those hungry for diverse spiritual dialogue much to devour. This is a religious publication without borders, at times highly academic, but most times quite accessible to even the casual reader. The staff is small, but the stories and ideas presented in just one issue are bountiful."

The most recent issue of the *Bulletin* is available online, and features articles by Sarah Sentilles, R. Gustav Niebuhr, and Cheryl A. Giles. Those who wish to receive the print issue can find more information on the *Bulletin* website.

Established in 1949, Religion Newswriters Association is an organization that promotes excellence in media coverage and in public discourse about religion. RNA’s primary projects include an annual conference, contests for religion reporting, membership resources, and mentoring.
